2023 SCHOLARSHIP TEE SHIRT SALE - OPEN UNTIL MAY 22nd (Midnight)

The Keliix Scholarship Tee Shirt Sale is now officially open!  Access this link to place orders by May 22nd (midnight) Scholarship Tee Online Orders.  The funds raised through this sale go directly to the Keliix Scholarship/Financial Aid Fund.  In this way, when you purchase one or more of the scholarship tee shirts and one or more of the scholarship caps, not only are you joining in a long tradition of the Keliix community members all proudly wearing their new stuff at Appleton, you are helping to make a life-changing experience available to children and families who otherwise would not be able to afford it.

Thank you!

Ukrainian Teen Joins U15 Boys

U15B team managers, Carrie Bachman and Kimberly Wong, are seeking contributions to cover fees, uniform and tournament costs for a new member of the team, Vlad.  Vlad is the 14-year-old son of Alex and Daria Chyrka, who along with sisters Alina and Miia, were displaced from their home in Kharkiv when Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022.  Through connections the sponsor family had to a Keliix family, it was discovered that Vlad loved to play soccer and missed it terribly.  In a matter of days, Vlad was back on the field attending Keliix practices.  Read below for more about this courageous family.  If you would like to help with a contribution, please contact Carrie or Kimberly.

The Chyrkas fled to safety in the Czech Republic and arrived in the US in March of 2023 after 2 days of travel on trains and planes.  They are settling in nicely to life in the Armatage neighborhood of Minneapolis.  Alex has a job in the workshop of a cabinet company and is enrolled in English classes with the hopes of increasing his language proficiency so that he can return to work in engineering (Alex has a Masters Degree in Mining Engineering and a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering).  Vlad (14) is enrolled in 8th grade at Anthony Middle School and Alina (8) is in 3rd grade at Armatage Community school.  Miia (3) will be attending preschool in the fall — that said, Miia is loving the time she gets to spend solo with Daria and their dog, Elive.  Daria is taking English classes and hopes to work again in a professional capacity once her speaking abilities improve and Miia is in school full time.
